Description
In this episode of Words & Ways we'll be looking at the story of Jesus, Jairus and the bleeding woman.
Words & Ways can be used in your own time with Jesus and with small groups, leadership teams, and one-on-one discipling relationships.
Our hope is that the words and ways of Jesus transform your mind, fill your heart, and encourage your soul today and every day.
SHOW NOTES:
Main Passage
Luke 8:40-50, Mark 5:21-36
DISCUSSION & REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
What do you notice when thinking about the woman's’ story and Jairus’s story as one interconnected story?
Have you ever experienced something like Jairus — feeling that Jesus is making you wait unnecessarily when you have pressing, urgent needs? What happened? How did you respond
Have you ever been in a situation like the woman’s - feeling desperate, helpless, and hopeless? Did you reach out to Jesus? What did you do or say to him? How did you sense him responding?
The woman came to Jesus humbly and quietly. Jairus came boldly and vocally. But in the end, Jairus had to wait humbly and quietly while the woman was asked to speak boldly. Has Jesus ever inverted your story in this way, turning things upside down in ways you didn’t expect?
How does your true identity as a daughter or son of the Most High God shape your daily life? When are you at risk of forgetting your true identity? How do you guard against that?
Are there people in your life whose situation and personality is completely different from you that might be good for you to know, listen to, and learn from?
