Alan Cross is a legendary Canadian radio broadcaster and writer on music. Originally from Stonewall Manitoba, he is best known as the host of the syndicated radio series The Ongoing History of New Music, The Secret History of Rock, and ExploreMusic. This Canadian radio icon has been in the game for over 40 years! His radio show, "The Ongoing History of New Music", debuted in February 1993 and since then has recorded over 720 one-hour episodes making it one of the longest-running music documentaries in Canada (and one of the longest in North America—if not the world!). Alan joined us over the internet and spoke with us about where his love for music came from, his start in radio, and the impact technology has had on radio stations.
