A Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and winner of the Australasian College of Dermatologists Travelling Fellowship, Dr Welsh opened her solo dermatology practice in 2002. In 2010 she was joined by friend of the podcast Dr Cara McDonald and the two founded Complete Skin Specialists.
