Description
There’s a strange phenomenon that I’ve observed in Christian culture. On one hand it’s preached that Jesus has saved us from sin, guilt and shame and on the other hand, the church teaches us to feel guilty and shameful through much of its practice and theology. I’ve lived most of my life with a chronic sense of guilt, that was at times, debilitating. The more I’ve talked to others about this, I’ve come to realize it’s something much bigger than me. As Ashley puts it in this episode, we sell people God wrapped in a New Testament (grace, love, acceptance, etc.) understanding but then deliver them the God of the Old (angry, vengeful, judgmental, etc.). In this episode we tackle this contradiction and talk about the reality of who God is. Visit XII Church at: https://www.xii.church/ Watch us on YouTube. Join our FREE Facebook group.
