Lisa is joined by Barbara Ford Hammond who talks about using self-hypnosis to reduce stress, help to manage pain, sleep better, boost the immune system and calm the nervous system.  Barbara creates hypnotic downloads for personal hypnotherapy that listeners work through in their own time.Barbara has been a hypnotherapist, trainer and pain management specialist for nearly 30 years. Her work can be in the left-brain logical camp or the right-brain creative field and she is as happy discussing neuroplasticity as she is talking about soul healing. For many years Barbara has suffered with back problems up to and including an iatrogenic injury during surgery that led to permanent nerve damage. The on-going issues from that led her to having a spinal cord stimulator implanted. It is a familiar experience because we are all slipping in and out of differing mind states several times each day.Hypnotherapy makes use of these natural abilities by inducing the hypnotic state to enable healing and/or change to be made on a subconscious level. Have you ever experienced a song playing over and over in your mind as if it is on a loop?Have you ever driven somewhere and not remembered your journey on arrival at your destination?​These are examples of trance states. Normal and natural - that we all experience.The subconscious mind 'runs' us. It is in charge of everything automatic, it looks after our memories so we don't have to keep relearning, it holds on to habits (good and bad), it adjusts our emotions and generally does everything it can to protect and keep us alive.Tasks: we learn … they become automatic.Habits (all of which are in the subconscious-good and bad): learn … automatic.Because our fears, habits, phobias etc. are in our subconscious that is where we need to deal with whatever is causing us problems or difficulties.​By using hypnosis as the tool or key for access to the subconscious we can change bad habits to good, identify and remove fears and phobias, reduce stress and boost the immune system to make us healthier, fitter and stronger in mind and body.A good example of change is when someone stops smoking. Within an hour the subconscious mind can accept a complete new programme that every cell in the body understands. All dependency is removed and the person is happy and free from cigarettes.No mumbo-jumbo or spooky powers - just a gentle yet powerful way to solve your problems.​Self Hypnosis There can't be many people that haven't heard about or know how powerful hypnosis can be.
