Iowa State's familiarity with No. 10 Baylor is not the only reason why they are favored to win in their upcoming Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals match. The Cyclones dominated the Bears in Waco, defeating them on senior night and holding them to only 58 points. Baylor, a top-10 team with championship pedigree, can only respond in one way during the rematch.
Iowa State senior Gabe Kalscheur acknowledged that Baylor will come out strong and aggressive, with a chip on their shoulder. Despite being underdogs, the Cyclones are ready for the challenge, knowing that Baylor will have to go through them.
In the previous game, Iowa State was up by 20 points in the final minute and handed Baylor a 73-58 loss. Baylor's coach, Scott Drew, credited Iowa State's defense for their tremendous performance. Despite being one of the best offenses in the country, Baylor struggled to make shots and had 14 turnovers.
