The Miami Hurricanes are on spring break, but the first full week of practices are in the books. Host Alex Donno reviews his top 4 takeaways from Mario Cristobal’s first week on the Greentree Practice Fields. The Canes have better practice habits and energy than this time last year. The quarterback room look solid so far with starter Tyler Van Dyke healthy after a 2022 shoulder injury, Jacurri Brown improving his accuracy, and early enrollee freshman Emory Williams turning heads. 
Donno notes that certain units are lacking serious depth in spring. The defensive line, running backs, and tight ends have an assortment of minor to major injuries without many bodies taking part in spring football. Alex’s final takeaway notes that several newcomers are flashing in a positive way. Transfer center Matt Lee, freshman safety Kaleb Spencer, freshmen DL Rueben Bain and Jayden Wayne, and receivers Ray Ray Joseph and Robby Washington, along with transfer linebacker Francisco Mauigoa and his brother, true freshman OT Francis Mauigoa are among those looking very good.
