What a crazy week this has been. We are a little over a week into 2021 and I think some of us are already starting the countdown to 2022. For those of you listening to this podcast in the future, I am recording this the Sunday after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building in DC. This week also had some Senate runoffs in Georgia to determine control of the next congress. We are still in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and it seems that the vaccine roll-outs are not going as smoothly as people had hoped. Of course, the debate on the social media platforms has been VERY intense, more intense than I recall previously. Because of what took place with Trump's supporters, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram have banned him from their platforms. Google and Apple have removed the Parler app from the app store. And now we have people threatening to leave Facebook and Twitter for Parler and Mewe and I'm not even sure what other options there are out there.Quite honestly, the chaos of this week, in particular on social media, has really caused me to reflect on my usage up to this point and what my usage my look like going forward. And while politics has a lot to do with it, certainly Youtube and Facebook in particular over the last several years have become increasingly hostile towards certain types of homesteading content which causes me to further rethink the role of social media in my life.And so today's episode is going to be really more of my talking out loud as I try to determine my path forward. Honestly, I have more questions than answers and certainly no conclusions will be made at the end of this episode. But, I am sure that I am not the only one who is wrestling with this. So, let's wrestle with it together.
