Her debut, The Last Place You Look, won the Shamus Award for Best First P.I. novel and was also nominated for Anthony and Macavity Awards. The second book in the series, What You Want to See, won Shamus and Goldie Awards. She is a cofounder of the feminist podcast Unlikeable Female Characters and currently serves as Chapter President for the Midwest region of Mystery Writers of America.
