What happens to us after we die? Some believe we cease to exist, others believe we return back to source, but the majority of people believe we either go to Heaven or Hell. Whether we end up in Heaven or Hell depends on our own actions. However, what of those who have committed horrendous acts, had the time to reflect and sincerely repented for all of their harm caused to others? Well, in Catholicism there is a place called Purgatory. Purgatory is a state where those who believed in God, but have committed grave sins go to in order to be purified and earn their ascension to Heaven. The souls of purgatory depend on our assistance to earn their ascent into Heaven, but how?
