Description

In 2012, BGSU Firelands professor Dr. Raymond Schuck co-authored a collection of essays with his father about Don McLean's smash hit "American Pie." It hit #1 in January of 1972, and the figures and meaning inside the lyrics continue to be left up to interpretation.

Dr. Schuck and Check Your Brain's Tony Mazur went through their interpretations of what "American Pie" may mean, but also the cultural impact of the song and what was occurring in the late-1960s and early '70s in America.
