Description

Chop problems. Just hearing those words sends shivers down the spine of amateur and professional trumpet players alike.
The thought of not being able to play the trumpet is something that creeps around in the deepest and darkest parts of our brains.
Most of the time, it is an irrational fear. But sometimes, the fear becomes very real.
The question is, is it possible to come back from chop problems?
Sometimes the answer is no.  But often, the answer could be yes, but only if you know where to look for help.
This special compilation episode of The Trumpet Gurus Hang features six of my past guests who have not only overcome chop problems but have turned their temporary setbacks into a setup for greater success.
Check out Bryan Davis on the process of recovering from overuse and playing the hard way, Mike Sailors on reviving broken down chops due to improper technique, Kenny Robinson on his method of dealing with cold sores, Craig Kenney on recovering from Bell's Palsy, Rich Willey on the importance of having the right mental attitude, and Brad Goode on recovering from traumatic injury.
So pour yourself a big glass, pull up a chair, and let the hang begin!
