Description
Friends of the Rosary:
This month, a friend told me that an 8 years-old child he knew died as a victim of painful cancer. The family was devastated. The parents thought that God was punishing them for their sinful behavior in the past.
But the Divinity doesn’t operate this way. It’s the opposite. In fact, God sent his only beloved Son, who suffered death on a Cross. Jesus Christ proved that his extreme suffering was a source of salvation.
When it is freely accepted and offered to God, sorrow transforms us into a better version of ourselves. Suffering purifies and gets us closer to the Father, as we are following the model of Christ. This is a deep mystery.
Six months after my holy wife passed away, my family is still in pain. Suffering is helping us to become closer to Jesus and Mary — and that’s a source of peace and joy.
Sorrow and pain do not come to hurt you. On the contrary, they come to save us. God doesn’t want you to suffer without meaning.
Ave Maria!
