Description
[Comment: Hardened Hearts]
Friends of the Rosary,
The Divinity lets the universe run according to its natural rhythm while allowing mankind’s free will to shape reality. However, occasionally the Heavens intervene, for our own good.
For example, in the last five centuries, we’ve been blessed with the apparitions of the Virgin Mary. Our Lady of the Rosary has come to our rescue when we have distanced too much from Her Divine Son.
In the Gospel last week, we read passages about Jesus Christ’s control over nature. The Son of God multiplied the loaves and the fishes, walked on the sea, controlled the wind, and cured a leper.
Jesus signaled his presence and purpose, and despite so, the heart of the disciples—who witnessed all of these supernatural events—was hardened, as Mark the Evangelist recounts (Mk 6:45-52).
As it was twenty centuries ago, today our hearts are hardened as well. We wrongly think that we will lose personal freedom if we invite Jesus Christ to dwell with us. It’s just the opposite. Thousands of saints and holy people across history can testify that.
At the beginning of the year, can we make a daily resolution of being truly open to the Holy Spirit?
As Jesus told the disciples, "Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!"
Ave Maria!
Happy New Year in Mary and Joseph!
