Description

Food and Feelings Part 2

In this episode, we talk about food and feelings for kids. We explain how babies and children learn to interpret when they are hungry and when they are upset, and how it’s never too late to help them reconnect with their natural wisdom around food. We share our own experiences with our teenagers when they were babies and children. We talk about the power of attachment play to help children when they are eating to suppress feelings, and how we can offer loving limits when a child is using food as a control pattern. Most of all, we invite you to have lots of self-compassion as you listen to this podcast!

The Aware Parenting Podcast explores all elements of parenting through a developmental perspective. We explore why and how connection, attachment, compassionately understanding our own childhoods as parents, and listening to our children are the foundation to parenting with this particular kind of awareness. We are both Aware Parenting Instructors, certified by The Aware Parenting Institute, founded by Aletha Solter, Ph.D.
