Ellen Weatherford is back! This week she joins Jack to discuss some of the conservation issues facing her home state of Florida!
The duo discuss the destruction of natural habitats for human development, the division of nature by highways, and the huge invasive species issue… Iguanas, Burmese Pythons and Lion Fish, we are looking at you!
On top of that Ellen talks about how you can decide which American Zoos to support! She is an avid zoo fan, so talks about how to spot a great collection and the differences between the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the Zoological Association of America (ZAA).
Now… that all seems awfully serious, but do not worry, nothing stops Jack and Ellen from having a few laughs along the way!
It should also be noted that last week Ellen talked all about her favourite local species. This included chats about snapping turtles, bison, alligators, anoles, cotton mouths, spoonbills, scrub jays and manatees. So, if you haven’t checked that out, go back and have a listen!
