In March, at the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-5) in Nairobi, world leaders and representatives from UN Member States endorsed a historic resolution to End Plastic Pollution. By 2024, leaders will create an international legally binding agreement to fight the plastic problem with a global treaty. So what exactly is this treaty and what should it include? Christy Leavitt, Oceana’s Plastics Campaign Director, joins the show to explain the efforts and why it was pursued.
