According to Data from the 2011 Drug Abuse Warning Network - cocaine was involved in over 500,000 of the nearly 1.3 million drug related ER visits. That's about 1 in every 3 visits that are related to drugs. Transport to the ER annually for medical emergencies caused by alcohol has increased from about 3 million to 5 million over the past 9 years! Of these admissions - the CDCs estimated that over 72,000 individuals died of drug over doses in 2017, that was an ALL TIME high in U.S history. Bringing our awareness to these numbers cannot come at a more important time.
