In this week’s chapter:
Scarlet and Winter continue their daring escape from Artemisia Palace, with help from a phantom friend. Scarlet decides their best plan is to go to Wolf’s family and seek shelter, so they head off for the small mining sector. Winter reveals to Scarlet her true reason for refusing to use her Lunar gift, leaving readers and Scarlet questioning if the gift could ever be used for good.
Meanwhile, back at the Palace, Levana is distracted listening to reports of disruption among the palace security system. If it doesn’t have to do with finding the cyborg, she doesn’t have time for it. Jacin arrives drenched in the blood of his kill, telling Levana ‘it is done’. But his request for a reassignment is denied and instead he must continue to serve his ‘beloved’ Queen.
