I rank the six most painful Wisconsin Badgers football and basketball losses. We talk MSU, OSU, Big Ten title games and much more.
We start with the Wisconsin / Ohio State 59-0 Big Ten Title beatdown. This game hurt so much considering Wisconsin was playing against Ohio State's 3rd string QB and was actually a 4.5 point favorite. When the dust settled; the carcass of Wisconsin football was left rotting on the field. We move onto the devastating sweet sixteen loss to Florida which featured a buzzer beater from Chris Chiozza to knock off Wisconsin 84-83.
We move onto two Wisconsin losses, yet another Big Ten title loss to the Buckeyes, but this time with so much more at stake. The 2017 loss cost the Badgers a chance at the playoffs and the game was close and winnable - despite a terrible Alex Hornibrook effort. We move onto the Hail Mary loss to MSU in 2011 where the Russell Wilson led Badgers fell 38-37 on a last second MSU hail mary. I dive into the ridiculous defense the Badgers deployed and why that loss derailed a potentially special Wisconsin unit.
In the last segment on Locked On Badgers, we talk about the 2014 loss at the buzzer to Kentucky and the eventual 2015 loss to Duke in the national championship game. The game against Duke in particular was so tough because we don't really know if Wisconsin will ever get back to that level.
