We continue our verse by verse, chapter by chapter study of God's Word.  We are in John's Gospel, chapter 5, verses 15-23.  We see the religious leaders start to persecute Jesus for allegedly breaking their Sabbath rules by healing on the Sabbath and telling the man he healed, who was crippled for almost 40 years, to take up his bed and walk.  Jesus confronts them and tells them as God works on the Sabbath, so does He because He  does only what Father God tells Him to do.  We see that the religious leaders realize that Jesus is claiming to be God, which He is, so they want to kill Him even more so.
