It’s time to step up. In June of 2019, it was reported that Fargo Public Schools had several thousands of dollars in outstanding school lunch debt that would be turned over to collections. Professional musician, NDSU professor, and North Dakota United member, Jason Boynton, disheartened by the news, talked to fellow musician Russell Pfaff, who suggested a benefit show, and within an hour several bands agreed to donate their time and talents to the cause. After partnering with Co-producer, Kari Lugo of Northern PR & Marketing, LUNCH AID: Fargo Bands for School Kids concert was formed, and raised $20,000 towards Fargo school lunch debt.Since the initial concert, Lugo and Boynton have furthered the mission into making real change and plan to continue their efforts until the goal of free Universal School Lunch in North Dakota is realized.
