Description
Angel Bat Dawid describes her background as a classically trained musician in contrast to her experience with jazz in her home city of Chicago. These improvised jam sessions opened Bat Dawid’s eyes to a new way of playing. This combination of musical skill inspired Bat Dawid to compose her work “Requiem for Jazz,” a 12 part Requiem Mass celebrating life, death and Jazz. Bat Dawid discusses the importance of self care, and slowing down to experience life without anxiety. Bat Dawid describes her thoughts about music as a healing force, and includes stories about African American communities, and how cultures have used music to express suffering and joys, and to promote collective healing.Credits:Paul Holdengraber - Co-Creator, Host, OLA DirectorAnthony Audi - Co-Creator, Researcher, OLA DirectorAlejandro Cohen - Co-Creator, Producer, ComposerChristian Pitt - Production Coordinator Erin Cooney - Copy, ProductionDublab Team

This virus spreads to 2 1/2 people - do the math. That is a very scary situation. We are talking about ending humanity right here. People need to wake up. Really do.” by The Quarantine Tapes
