Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal said “we’re not gonna create drama or narratives” when asked about safety Avantae Williams, who indicated on his social media that he isn’t happy about his lack of playing time. Mario spoke highly of Williams and says he met with Avantae personally to have a straightforward conversation. Playing time at Miami is earned in practice, not given. Williams still has plenty of time to earn opportunities on the field. 
Host Alex Donno talks about matchups and keys to victory for the Hurricanes this weekend. Miami is set to face Texas A&M on the road. The Aggies will feel tons of pressure to bounce back after getting upset at home by Appalachian State. The Hurricanes will need to start faster on offense than they have the first two games. The Aggies have looked vulnerable against the run, but Miami will also need to establish a downfield passing attack from Tyler Van Dyke and his receivers. Donno expects the Aggies to focus heavily on Xavier Restrepo, so others like Key’Shawn Smith, Brashard Smith and Jacolby George will need to step up. Plus, the tight end room will need to be better. Will Mallory and Elijah Arroyo should get a ton of targets this week. 
Alex discusses Miami’s defensive approach for this week. No matter which quarterback the Canes face, Haynes King or Max Johnson, Jimbo Fisher’s offense will not change. Miami will try to shut down the Aggies running game and force the quarterbacks to beat them. Miami will need to fix the soft spots in their secondary and hopefully see more positive play from Corey Flagg at linebacker and from the entire pass rush.
