Locked On Cougars for July 1, 2019 began with the news out of the Elite 11 National Finals where 2020 BYU QB commit Sol-Jay Maiava is showing well and a highlight of #59 Thomas Shoaf as the Holy War Player Countdown continues.
In the second segment, American Athletic Conference commissioner Mike Aresco talked about the chances the AAC will consider expansion to fill the slot UConn leaves in the conference, and explaining if BYU or Army would be a candidate to join the American.
Finally, Matt Owens from the men's track and field program was honored with an academic All-American citation for his standout work in the classroom along with his All-American showings on the track in the Steeplechase.
