Locked on BYU for August 24, 2018 began with a deep dive on BYU offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes. Jake Hatch examined Coach Grimes' background and how his work under a number of legendary and innovative coaches have him well-prepared to lead the Cougars offense in 2018 (2:25). 
In the second segment BYU fans have a chance to get to know South Summit High School defensive tackle Bruce Mitchell. He explains why he wanted to commit to BYU, what it means to him to have an opportunity to represent a 2A Utah High School at the Football Bowl Subdivision and what another local coach told him he should do when he was offered a BYU scholarship (14:03). 
Hatch also talked with Mitchell's high school head coach Mike Grajek about what Bruce will bring to BYU, why he believes the Cougars are a perfect fit for his star lineman and what it means for him as a coach to see a student of his get an opportunity like the one being given to Mitchell (16:56).
Lastly, in "Quick Hits," Hatch touched on the preseason honors for the BYU men's and women's cross-country teams, the weekend sports schedule for the Cougars, why BYU sports fans should attend the Big Blue Bash Saturday night and examining the five inductees set to enter the BYU Athletics Hall of Fame (22:00).
