Description

On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on the upcoming Sweet 16 games in the NCAA Tournament. We'll go through each games with a fine-toothed comb as the week goes on, but it's nice to get J-Mac's early lean on all the action. As we've said plenty of times before, sometimes the best time to bet a game is early in the week before the sharps start to manipulate the number. Later, Jason does a deep dive into the futures of Baker Mayfield and Jimmy Garoppolo. A few weeks ago, Mayfield was the franchise quarterback of the Browns and Jimmy G was seen as the most realistic trade target for teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Now? They'd be lucky to find a starting gig anywhere. Making matters even more complicated is now that Aaron Rodgers has signed a big money deal to remain with the Green Bay Packers, former first round pick Jordan Love should be very gettable. Love will come at a much lower price-tag than either Garoppolo or Mayfield, so you shouldn't be surprised to see his name floated around as we get closer to the NFL Draft. Speaking of QB-needy teams, the Seattle Seahawks should absolutely be in the market for a new signal caller now that Russell Wilson is in Denver. However, with the way Pete Carroll keeps publicly pumping up Drew Lock, it's becoming more and more apparent that the Seahawks are planning a stealth tank job in 2022 in hopes of landing their next franchise quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft when guys like CJ Stroud and Bryce Young should be available.
