This week we review the Academy Award Winning film, Promising Young Woman (2020). Though this episode is a bit of a heavy hitter compared to our previous ones, we enjoyed having a safe, validating space to talk about sexual assault and what its like to be a woman today and we hope you find it just as safe and validating! 
Talking points: Olivia and Olexa’s dynamic and friendship, the “cool girl” myth, reality television, Olexa’s gasps, Letterboxd reviews, addressing the controversy surrounding this movie, the flaws of the main character, the term “nice guy”, reactions to sexual assault, the upper hand men have, the caricature of “the rapist”, and the ending of the film.
