Description

Off the bat, you can already tell this will be a special episode because it marks the first time I interview two amazing friends at once.Sheika Bodour Al Qasimi and Mamadou Kwidjim Toure are the founders of the Ubuntu Love Challenge, a global movement built on the core philosophy of Ubuntu - “I am because we are” - with a mission to restore hope through a worldwide display of human collaboration and appreciation.Sheika Bodour Al Qasimi is the daughter of the ruler of the emirate of Sharjah, UAE, Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi. Being royalty is perhaps the least impressive of her credentials, as she also happens to be a powerhouse of a woman and mother. She is the founder and CEO of children's publisher Kalimat Group and the vice president of the International Publishers Association. She is a trailblazer in the global publishing scene and is creating a positive impact on the world through freedom to publish, enlightenment of children, and empowerment of women. She has been ranked by Forbes as one of the Most Powerful Arab Women in Business.Mamadou Kiwdjim Toure is the Founder of Africa 2.0, a non-for-profit pan African civil society organization with the aim to create a sustainable vision for the transformation of Africa. Named one of the top 10 Most Influential Men in Africa by Forbes Magazine, Mamadou founded the Ubuntu Group in 2015 and built on his global network and investment savviness to launch socio-economic projects throughout the continent of Africa. Inspired by the wisdom of his ancestors, Mamadou believes that co-creating a better world is possible when diversity is nurtured and access to opportunities is evenly distributed.Together, these two were inspired by the fear pervading the world during the pandemic to create the Ubuntu Love Challenge, which has the simple goal of having the world choose Love over Fear.Listen as we discuss:How Sheikha Bodour even exceeded royal expectations and became a super mom and businesswoman, and how her world changed when she became a mother. The United Arab Emirates as a society that empowers women, and her stories of being the only woman in the room at business meetings - even in Europe! The incredible story of how Mamadou started Africa 2.0 with an intense dedication to better his mother continentMamadou's Muslim Dad and Christian Mom, and highly diverse ancestry that showed him the beauty and power of our differencesThe idea behind the Ubuntu Love Challenge and the meaning of Ubuntu: "I am because we are"Why Love is the antidote to FearHow in the Middle East, social safety nets are less about social welfare programs and more about knowing your friends and family have your back in times of crisisThe issue of men being afraid to embrace love due to losing touch with their feminine sideThe feminine as the key to the future of leadership in business and world affairsTake the Ubuntu Love Challenge at ubuntulovechallenge.orgInstagram: @mo_gawdatFacebook: @mo.gawdat.officialTwitter: @mgawdatLinkedIn: /in/mogawdat
