Description
Since moving to the Northwest, Jan Baross has made over 40 documentaries. Her award winning films have aired on A&E and OPB. She’s made animated shorts, produced television PR, worked on feature films and co-produced music videos. She has shot news as a stringer for NBC, CBS affiliates. She has also taught filmmaking at Oregon State University.Her published novel, “Jose Builds a Woman” won first place for fiction in the national Kay Snow Awards. As a published playwright, Jan's work has been produced Off Off Broadway, in the US and Mexico. A commission to turn her play, “Mata Hari”, into the libretto for an opera resulted in a premiere at the Deep Ellum Opera Theater in Dallas, Texas.Ms. Baross is a freelance film critic, travel and feature contributor for several newspapers and magazines in the US and Mexico.Education: San Francisco State U- BA in Art. teaching credential, Oregon State-MA in media communications.Her most recent book 'In Living Color' is a delightful collection of her original poems.
