Description
In this episode of The Artist Business Plan we sit down with curator Georgie Pope of Independent Collectors. She leads an awesome masterclass on how to prepare for collectors. Engage with collectors from the start and engage with your why. Don't assume a collector is going to collect your work- they have their own individual taste, so do your research.
"There is no one stereotype collector. Get to know your collectors and do your research.”- Georgie Pope
Guest: Georgie Pope is the Curator of Independent Collectors – the largest global guide to private collections of contemporary art, structured as a non-commercial and 100% public platform. For the past six years, Georgie has worked as a Supervisor and Art Mediator at the Boros Collection, Bunker Berlin. Earlier this year, Georgie Co-founded and launched a fresh initiative called The Fairest. The Fairest is a new art fair model, to create exposure and direct market access for young, emerging or independent artists, regardless of gallery representation or medium. The Fairest calls for more fluidity, experimentation, collaboration and narratives in the art world.
