He loves to create things from scratch and drive them through to completion. As a kid, his aunt owned a gallery in Basalt. He spent summers with his grandparents in nearby Aspen, so he spent a lot of time in the gallery. Prior to Altamira, Michael spent 8 years at Clique Studios, a top national design firm headquartered out of Chicago. There he started as a UX designer then transitioned to launching and managing new offices. In 2013, Michael helped launch the Chicago Venture Summit, sitting on the steering committee until 2021.
