Description

Huge opened up the show today by talking about how he was able to see one of his son's first games last night and what a roller coaster it's been to get to this point. He was saying how proud he was of all of the kids, the people who got everyone to this point. He went down a little rabbit hole regarding refs and officials and how Huge as a person has really changed the way reacts to those officials. He's turned a new leaf to say the least. We were then joined by John Borton to get a Wolverine football update as the beginning of the season is about 3 weeks away. John and Huge discussed practicing in pads, how tough the schedule looks, and much more. Huge also asked the audience if they think the Lions will beat the Saints on Sunday...We haven't heard much from the Lions fan on this one quite yet.
In our second hour we talked even more about college football as the start of the season is right around the corner. First, we were joined by Matt Wenzel to get his initial feelings on how Mel Tucker and his team could do this shortened season as the Spartans are also practicing in pads. He and Huge also went through some of the concerns they had as far as Mel Tucker and his first year goes. We were then joined by Tim May to get his thoughts from an Ohio State perspective. Huge and Tim talked about how they think Ryan Day and his team will do, and they also talked about the college football playoffs as Tim sees OSU going to them without a doubt. We wrapped up the hour with your thoughts on Huge’s question regarding the Lions playing the Saints on Sunday.
In our final hour we took some more of your calls and comments about the Lions/Saints game this Sunday. The callers we’ve been getting seem to have faith that Detroit can pull it off. We then moved on to talk more about Mel Tucker and the Spartans. Graham Couch joined us to talk about Mel Tucker and how he differs from Mark Dantonio as far as style of coaching and intensity goes. We then moved on to talk more about that Lions game with our friend Tony Ortiz. Tony gave us his thoughts on if he thinks Patricia and the team can pull it off. We were joined by Tom Rosenbach from BeeneGarter at the end of the show so he could take Bill’s weekend college/NFL picks for the Beat Huge Contest.
