Huge opened up the show today by discussing a recent tweet that the Detroit Lions sent out wishing Calvin Johnson a Happy Birthday. This put Bill on a slight tangent talking about the organization and the history it has with throwing their great players to the wayside. This eventually led Huge to ask the audience this question - Has there ever been a better person that played wide receiver over Calvin Johnson? We were joined by Tim Twentyman in our first hour to talk about that win over the Cardinals on Sunday. Huge and Tim also took a look at the path moving forward for Patricia and his team. We took your calls and comments on the question – some people agreeing with Huge, some saying that Randy Moss is far better.
In our second hour we wanted to take a look at the NBA Finals between the Lakers and Miami Heat as the first game is set to begin soon. We were joined by Scoop Jackson this hour to get his feelings on who will come out victorious. He and Huge also talked about Doc Rivers and the Clippers and Scoop gave his feelings on what Doc will do next. They also talked a little about when the NBA plans to start back up again after the Finals are over. We then moved on to talk about some Wolverine football as their first game is only 3 weeks away. We were joined by Aaron McMann to see what he’s been hearing regarding what the team is doing to get prepared.
In our final hour today we went on to talk a little more about our question to the audience regarding Calvin Johnson. We then wanted to talk about the MLB playoffs as our Tigers are officially out of the running. Dan Hasty joined us to talk a little bit about the playoffs and then he and Huge went on to talk about next year’s Tigers and who they think could be brought up from the Minor Leagues to get their moment in the big leagues. We then moved on to talk with Dr. K about the relationship between Covid and sports – more specifically that outbreak that occurred on the Tennessee Titans team. We wrapped up the show with Tom Rosenbach from BeeneGarter so he could let Huge know how he did on his weekend picks.
