Description
Throughout the entire show on this Michigan High School Athletic Association Wednesday, we had the opportunity to hear from some of the high school senior athletes from the state of Michigan. We’ve heard a lot about how the coaches have been affected by Covid-19, but we haven’t heard much from the students. These young ladies and gentleman joined us to give us an idea of what it was like to have their final season cut short. They also told us what they’ve been doing in their off-time as well as how their communities have been handling everything that’s come at us. To kick off our first hour we were joined by Jack Fairman out of Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood. He played football, basketball, and baseball – and is going on to play football of UPenn. We were then joined by Trevin Philips from Caro. His sports were soccer, basketball, track and baseball – and he is going on to throw for the Saginaw Valley track team. Our first student athlete of this hour was Lexi Mohney out of Mattawan. She ran cross country and track and was a part of the ski team. She will be studying public policy at MSU this upcoming fall. Our second senior athlete that joined us in the hour was Kaitlyn Bricker from Pellston. Kaitlyn played volleyball and softball and will be attending GVSU this fall. In our final hour we were first joined by Nathan Eccles from Port Huron Northern. Nathan ran cross country and track and will be heading to the University of Michigan once school starts back up. To wrap up the show Bella Santiago-Lindsay from North Muskegon joined us. She also ran cross country and track and will be studying at UPenn this fall.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
