Description

This year John Parker and Jeff Forrester went up to Tennessee to compete at the Mid-State Mile. Both men took it on with John running 22 some miles and Jeff Forrester coming home with 5 miles. John Parker was one of the three winners at the Forgotten Florida 100! He's also raced numerous Last Man Standing races, including Florida's at Death at Depuis. Jeff Forrester is new to the trails, but he knocked it out at the HellCat 50k! Both these have some amazing stories at this years Mid-state Mile and its always a lot to take in, even though a race doesn't quite pan out as planned. Enjoy!
This course at the Mid-State is no joke. The Mid-State Mile course is housed on private land just 20 minutes from Downtown Franklin, TN. It's a one-mile course and hosts 340 feet of elevation gain per loop. That elevation is thanks to two climbs with fast runnable sections between them, plus an easy downhill section through the field to the start/finish area. The course itself is an old logging road with a lot of local history.
It's a Last Man Standing race that restarts every 20 minutes, so runners will have to complete the loop and be back in the starting corral ready to start the next loop until the last man standing.
