Description

Join me, Dr. Sarah Milken, in an honest and open conversation about learning how to thrive, not just survive in our second half of life with Elissa Goodman. Elissa Goodman is a holistic nutritionist and lifestyle cleanse expert to an A-list roster of celebrities. After being diagnosed with cancer at 32 and then losing her husband to his own fight with cancer, Elissa dove deep into finding solutions for helping to cure cancer and many other health problems. Her quest to heal her own cancer led her into being a fountain of health and lifestyle change &  solutions for thousands of her clients. She wrote the best-selling book “Cancer Hacks” and has an upcoming book called “Auto-immune Hacks”. Elissa also offers a soup cleanse program to help reset the body, and a digital 7 day reset as well. Elissa is giving us the tools we need to create a healthier lifestyle from the inside out and make our bodies the strongest they can be in the second half of life. We are going to dig deep into the details of Elissa’s journey into her second half of life, and how she was able to move past trauma and illness and change her life entirely. In this episode, we learned the benefits of cleansing, juicing, supplements, stress reduction and cancer prevention hacks. We talk about how her own personal experiences with cancer and other illnesses led her to a “vending machine” of different remedies from trauma therapy, to energy healing, journaling, meditation, and then finally nutrition. She was able to try many different things, cure her cancer and find some personal inner calm. Elissa recommends trying many different modalities. It’s not a one size fits all approach to health. She also believes in the importance of testing our bodies for deficiencies so we can better use supplements. She figured out the secrets to thriving, not just surviving.  In this process, she also discovered her purpose and why for her second half of life, in helping people heal from physical and mental issues and find a fountain of longevity and good health. Elissa teaches us all about the importance of plant-based diets and juicing without sugar fruits, and how these plants & veggies are able to help eliminate illness, reduce inflammation and improve our mental health. While it is important to eat more plants and vegetables, it doesn’t mean you have to cut out meat and animal products entirely… it is possible to still enjoy yourself. She also talks to us about how stress and trauma have a physical impact on our bodies, and if we don’t work to reduce it, it can end up having physical manifestations in our body. With varying combinations of different practices,  journaling or finding a practice to reduce stress, cleaning up our eating and social connection, we can become the healthiest versions of ourselves. After listening to this episode, you will be able to improve all aspects of your health, from the inside out & kickstart the new year filled with transformation and thriving, not just surviving. Some highlights: How to take the first step in juicing and cleansing Finding life and meaning after tragedy Why we need to eat more plants, and less meat How holistic wellness and plant medicine helped cure her cancer How Elissa used a “vending machine” of remedies and therapeutic avenues to help heal from trauma and start her second half of life The importance of regulating emotions to help prevent illness and inflammation How to start journaling to relieve stress and reduce illness   Golden Nuggets from the episode: JUICE, JUICE, JUICE!
