Description

The Covid 19 (corona virus) has essentially wiped out most business and most forms of entertainment. In the week that all of this has happened we wanted to showcase a different part of the music industry, and how the effects of virus have impacted everyone.

We start with JB Brubaker, guitarist for August Burns Red, who's tour with Killswitch Engage was canceled after only 2 days. JB talks about how this tour was about 1/2 of this years income for him and his family, what he's been doing since being quarantined to his house and shares how this effects his wife and son and more.

Next up is Frank Fanelli, who's life as a tour manager, light technician and merch person came to a halt as his tour with Black Veil Brides was suddenly postponed. Frank tells us how he came up with a gofundme to try and raise money to help others in the industry who found themselves out of work, and shares some of the struggles he's faced trying to raise awareness of the campaign.

Amy Sciarretto is a publicist who works with bands such as August Burns Red and Killswitch Engage and has been caught in the middle between bands and managers and such as the news of tour cancelations and such spread. Hear how she and her team at Atom Splitter PR have traversed these insane last few days and how some of their clients have found interesting ways to still entertain their fans, even if stuck at home, and how she thinks this will change the landscape to eh music industry, if at all.

Lastly, we have Tom Smith of The Acacia Strain, a band who literally tried to exhaust any and all options to remain out on the road in spite of venues shutting down and forcing the band to get creative on the fly with ever-changing acceptable numbers of people allowed to gather for shows. Hear how Tom and the rest of the band found ways to make shows happen on less than 24 hours notice. How the band played as a 4 piece for the first time in years, and a quick update on the reception to the bands latest two releases, D and E respectively and the speculation from fans as to what it will spell.

Overall I hope you take away the hope and optimism in everyones situations that things will return to normal eventually and that fans of metal/hardcore music have really supported their favorite artists in these trying times.
