God was leading the Israelites out of Egypt and to the land that He had promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This is where they would live with God in peace and rest and safety. And they wouldn’t be slaves anymore, but people of God’s household. But it wasn't an easy journey. God led them into the wilderness and guided them with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. But once again, Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he chases after his lost slave force.



The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.Exodus 13:22



God never left His people. These pillars were always there for the people to see, and to know that the Lord was with them.
