Description

In this interview, NPM Reporter Andrew Burnes speaks with Jamie Hutson about his background, as well as the background of DSD before moving into a wide ranging discussion tackling trends in the C&I market, the challenges and traits that make the market unique, and where it thrives most. We also get into Jamie's approach to project finance, particularly his focus on the efficiency of capital over the cost of capital. Finally, we discuss the tax equity market and how it would be affected by a federal direct pay alternative, the rise of storage and the role it will play in DSD's pipeline going forward, and Jamie's major goals for the next two years. Jamie Hutson was recently promoted to Chief Investment Officer of DSD where he oversees the financing wing of the company. He has been with the company since 2019 and been working on project finance with GE since 2015. During his tenure at DSD, Hutson has accomplished several key financings including most recently a financing package with Credit Suisse, a debt revolver package from Rabobank, and a tax equity package from Bank of America. Before joining GE in 2015, Jamie started two companies of his own and worked at those organizations for 10 years.
