In this episode, we look at the impact of COVID-19 on the sustainability efforts of companies around the world. Over the last several years, companies have made bold sustainability commitments, but the COVID-19 pandemic changed priorities to public health. Sustainable packaging commitments have been particularly affected, with companies pausing the use of reusable containers and some governments lifting bans of single use plastic.   The economics of sustainability will remain challenging during this pandemic, but the disruption won’t last forever. COVID-19 is demonstrating the impact purpose-driven businesses can have on society and could likely be a tipping point that accelerates sustainable development.
