In August 2016, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the US published a study highlighting a group of people that consumed food from subsidized crops. This group was 37 percent more likely to be obese than those who consumed food from non-subsidized crops. This dialogue could lead to changes in the next Farm Bill, which has the potential for significant change in the price of food in America.
