The US dollar has been around for a long time. But will it last much longer?

You see, while the US dollar has been in existence for over 200 years, the current fiat version -- which is not backed by any hard collateral like the gold and silver it once was prior to 1971 -- is only now just turning 50 years old.

And in the five decades since the US dollar made its debut, our current fiat dollar has lost 85% of its purchasing power.

That's been the result of rampant inflation caused by the Federal Reserve and the US government's reckless policies, huge debt build-up and massive deficit spending.
