Description

Still stuck with too much time up close and personal with a #narcissistic #Hijackal? That can be so difficult! They can be such emotional vampires, sucking energy out of every room. And, you end up getting way too much exercise walking on eggshells! This is the third in this Housebound With A Hijackal. In previous parts of this series, I've suggested never poke a #Hijackal. That just makes sense: they rage, threaten, or demean and it's just not worth it. Nothing moves forward. Today, I'm taking four things that #Hijackals do, and giving you internal antidotes--things you can do within yourself--to neutralize the external toxicity of the Hijackal. You know, those toxic demeaning, devaluing, discounting, dismissive ways along with the raging torrents of words and energy that are usually quite out of proportion with what's actually happening!Knowing that you have effective tools in your toolkit for those moments when a Hijackal dances on your last nerve is empowering...if you remember to use the tools. There is that, right? lolThese four strategies will help you always, even when you're not housebound with a Hijackal. I think you'll find such relief that you'll use them often. I hope you will, that's for sure.Big hugs!RhobertaHIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY'S EPISODE:What to do when complaining, blaming, and shaming come at you #narcissisticabuseRecognizing gaslightingAn exercise to empower you when a #Hijackal wants to define your reality for youUnderstanding true assertiveness and how to express it well How to take charge of your breath and use it to modify your stateAffirmations to help you stay present and positive in the face of negativity and blameWant clarity, insights, strategies, and support from me, Dr. Rhoberta Shaler? We can talk: Introductory session for new clients, $97CONNECT WITH ME: I invite you to like my pages and follow for further help with recognizing toxic relationships, realizing their impact, realigning your life, and recovering your self-confidence and ability to love and trust again.Learn more: TransformingRelationship.comListen to my podcastsLike my Facebook pageFollow me on Twitter: Stay in touch on LinkedIn: Find my inspiring graphics on Instagram:So much on my Pinterest boardsSubscribe to my YouTube Channel: ForRelationshipHelp -------------------------------------------------------------I'M HERE TO HELP YOU FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON AND WHAT YOU WANT TO DO ABOUT IT!If you want to learn more, share, ask questions, and feel more powerful within yourself and your relationships, join my Support Circle now.Off social media, safe discussion + videos + articles + webinars + personal home study program + group Ask Me Anything Calls with me.WOW! The Save Your Sanity podcast offers episodes filled with the expert insights, validation, strategies, and support you need to recognize, manage, and recover from relationships with the relentlessly difficult, toxic--and often disturbing--people that host Dr. Rhoberta Shaler calls Hijackals®. She offers invaluable help to stop the second-guessing, undermining, and crazy-making traits, patterns, and cycles you have encountered in relationships with folks like those. Understand the ways, whys, and hows that verbal abuse, emotional abuse, and spiritual abuse affect you over time. Whether the Hijackal is a partner, parent, ex, or colleague, what you will learn here will strengthen and empower you to step up, speak up, and stand up for yourself in healthy, assertive ways. Many Hijackals have behaviors that are considered the same as those who are diagnosed as narcissists, borderlines, psychopaths, sociopaths, and histrionic personality disorder. These insights will help you to make the changes--and good decisions--to move from pain to power, and that's exactly what you want to do!
