Lauren flips out when learning that Kieran killed all of their captures - without telling her. She reflects on their moments of shared trust and the chance for answers that is now gone from her forever.   
They watch Dakan introduce King Philip, standing on the balcony with his family. He informs the crowd of what happened and tries to reassure them with reinforced policing (Kym complains about the night shifts), and also adds a life sentence in jail for anyone suspected of helping the Purple Hyacinth. Gulp.  
Lauren feigns illness, and then, enraged, runs through the forest to Kieran's cave, where she meets a depressed looking Kieran sitting calmly (externally) in a rocking chair, reading a book.   
He greets her with the smile of an angelic devil.
