Description

As you all know, I'm a former SEGA hater. I grew up on the SNES side of the 90's console wars, and missed out on most of the best games that were exclusive to Sega's little black box. In the last year or so, I've played Shining Force, Shinobi, Ecco the Dolphin; I'm trying to make up for lost time. One of the games that constantly pops up on the "best of" lists when it comes to the Genesis is Phantasy Star IV. So I finally got around to giving it a shot. And while I think calling it "Sega's Final Fantasy VI" is a little extreme, it's pretty good!

My buddy Chris is a Sega kid, and we had a good time breaking down the good, the bad, and the ugly about Chaz and friends. If that's all you're here for, skip to 15:00.

Before we get into Phantasy Star, I rambled like the old man that I am. I quickly touched on the sheer amount of sales going on in the gaming world right now, and whether or not physical game buyers are finally joining the digital team.

Sony is following in Ubisoft's footsteps and giving away games for free to try and get people to stay home, and publicity move or not, I think they deserve some love. Apparently Capcom is remaking Resident Evil 4, and I'll jump on any excuse to sing that game's praises. And finally, I'm playing a lot of video games right now, and I talk about them for a couple minutes.

We've done this 92 times, you guys know what to expect. Stay safe and enjoy the podcast!
