Description
The Big Ten may not be done expanding just yet. Everyone knew that at some point the conference would try and get bigger than the current 16 teams it has, but recent reports suggest the Big Ten could try to add more schools as soon as during the football season. Nate Dickinson goes over the latest reporting that Oregon could be the next Big Ten team on today's Locked On Big 10. Before, Nate thought the Big Ten was done expanding for at least the time when schools are in session, but Kevin Warren already showed us that he doesn't care about the old rules of college sports. With the most forward-thinking Commissioner in all of college sports, could the Big Ten become 17 teams large by the end of the calendar year? Reports that Oregon and the Big Ten have started preliminary talks suggest it could be possible.
Later, Nate goes into the remaining quarterback battles in the Big Ten. Both Indiana and Illinois' head coaches announced that their teams have a starter, but both coaches also won't tell us who it is until Gameday. Who should start for the Hoosiers and Illini, and how much of a difference will it make for two teams looking at the bottom of the Big Ten standings in preseason projections. Also, Nate thinks Michigan should at least be trying to solve its two-quarterback situation while it has the chance early in the season. If JJ McCarthy can be the guy, now is the time to find out.
