The NBA Draft took place Thursday night, with the Big Ten making a big impact on the evening and supplying one of the first surprises of the draft as well. After everyone thought Jaden Ivey would be the first player taken off the board from the Big Ten, Keegan Murray instead stole that spotlight and went with the No. 4 overall pick to the Sacramento Kings. Ivey went to the Detroit Pistons with pick No. 5, and the Washington Wizards selected Johnny Davis with pick No. 10. Ohio State's Malaki Branham fell to pick 20 when the San Antonio Spurs took the freshman, rounding out the conference's first-round picks. In the second round, Caleb Houstan, Moussa Diabate, EJ Liddell, Bryce McGowens, and Max Christie all went to teams across the NBA.
