Description
Marina Marchese is a beekeeper and honey sommelier. She is the founder of the American Honey Tasting Society and is a frequent speaker and author on the topic of honey tasting and pairing. In this podcast, Marina joins Jeff and Kim to introduce the topic of honey tasting and that it is more than smearing honey on toast or dumping it into one's tea. Marina relates to tasting honey as a total sensory experience and one that must be learned and developed. Marina discusses how to discern the unique flavors and attributes of different honey varietals and pairing them with cheeses and other foods. Marina's ground breaking studies and experiences has lead to the book she co-authored with Kim, The Honey Connoisseur, speaking engagements and guest lecturer appearances. We welcome Marina to the Beekeeping Today Podcast and hope you, the listener, enjoy the conversation and set you off on your own honey tasting journey.
