Hello, darlings! Welcome back to #LumSquad, a podcast hosted by @LumRanmaYasha and @ProdTally devoted to the wonderful and wacky world of Rumiko Takahashi’s Urusei Yatsura!

We went back on an unexpected hiatus again last year, but hey, Viz’s second attempt to release UY in the 90s also unceremoniously stopped too. As they say, the third time’s the charm, and at least we’ve come back for our third try much faster than they did! Much like Viz’s regular releases of the series, we’re dedicated to resuming regular episodes of this podcast, which in our case will be monthly releases on the last friday of every month from here on out! We’ve already got some episodes banked and planned, and with more manga coming out and Discotek bringing the movies out later this year, there’ll always be plenty to talk about!

Our plans for the next couple of episodes involve catching back up on the manga, starting with volume 6; the first volume featuring newly translated UY chapters from Viz in over 20 years! We excitedly discuss the first appearances of prominent characters like Kotastu Neko and Ryoko Mendou, the recurring conflict between the Tomobiki students and their teachers, and some classic stories playing around with japanese history and alien biology!

Afterward, we dig into one of AC’s favorite hobbies - anime cel collecting! AC explains the history of cells, what the Urusei Yatsura cel market is like, and some of his favorite gets and most regretful misses. AC’s tips and tricks of the trade will be sure to help you get a start on building an awesome anime cel collection of your very own! So grab some tasty taiyaki and curl up in your comfiest kotatsu, and chill out listening to another lively episode of #Lum Squad!
